The lighthouse is a perfect metaphor for life.

Selflessly standing firm in the service of others despite the trials it’s faced. There are no ulterior motives. Only to shine so that others may see the way through hazards that it knows are there.
How noble. In defiance of storms, relentless in its purpose. Never wavering even in the dark reaches of an endless sea. Assuring safety as long as you heed its light… see its radiance cutting through the blackest of nights.
How perfectly stoic and steadfast. Against the backdrop of a town – a steadfast beacon of determination and resilience. Chaos can rain from above, but the light will shine. You can count on it.
Much like we all must stay true to our own course of life’s treacherous seas, the lighthouse reminds us all of the turmoil we face. The rocks and crags of our minds and spirit.
It stands and shines, undiminished and unwavering, to light the very darkness of our souls. Reminding us to be resolute to our purpose and our calling.
Just heed the light. Not only in the stormy nights, where darkness rules all. But also in those calm nights, where all seems right. Appreciate the light.
It’s always there.
(Dedicated to the love of my life and my very own lighthouse. Thank you for sharing so many memories with me and making many more along the way.)
